Try running your washing machine without any clothes in it and with some white vinegar in the water.  That should clean out whatever is in there....this also works for dishwashers.

Good luck!

 ???
I hope someone can help.  Our clothes started to appear with very odd stains on them -  a sort of water mark and grey in colour.  After ruling out sloppy eating habits and the iron, we've now found out that its happening in our washing machine.  Every now and again an item or two of clothing comes out of the wash with these marks on them - they cannot be got rid of, not even with Vanish.  We've stopped using fabric conditioner in the hope that has something to do with it, but alas it happened again last night.  Any ideas? Any info grateful. Thanks Clare
