We had a few car deals where we were "upside down."  After the second one, we wised up and only buy Ford trucks now.  Of course, we get A-plan as my husband works there, but trucks truly hold their value better than anything else.  We've also been very happy with them as far as how they run etc.  If you have a family, you can get what is called a stretch-cab.  Just info for future purchases that will hopefully help you.  Hope it works out!

Check the Kelly Blue Book value. The car is worth somewhere between the trade in value and the retail (what the dealer would sell it for). Don't trade it in if you can help it! You'd be better off selling privately.

Did you want to sell it 'cause you can't afford it or is it a lemon? Couldn't hurt to look into refinacing it. It's worth a shot.
GOOD LUCK!!!!

Help? I am in a very bad car deal. I am financing a 1999 Dodge Intrepid, I went to go try to trade it in and found out the car is only worth $1,500.00 dollars & I still owe $7,258.00 pay off price. Since i'm over my head by over $5000 the dealship wants a $3 or $4000 down payment which I can't afford, this is the second dealership that tells me the same thing I don't know what to do I want out of this car it's been more of a head ache than anything else, somebody please help!
