I must have some tough bugs.  I tried the WD-40 (thanks Robin) and it took a lot of the stuff off after a long road trip ... but there's still plenty on there.  Those internet speeds must really get the stuff in deep.

I have used WD-40 before and it does work, takes off the tar too...but you have to wash it thorough afteward, greasy stuff.

I have this problem and have not been able to get them off with elbow grease so thought I'd research it a bit online.
