Hi, I'm new to the forum although I've been receiving the newsletter for some time.  So I thought I'd begin with a reply to this post.  I make purses out of old jeans, and I use recycled fabric belts for the straps.  They're much sturdier than a strip of denim, and you can find some really interesting ones.

I love forums like this, where the only limit is the imagination.

Was reading and ran across belts in the Recycle/Reuse.

An old mechanics trick for a belt is using it to remove an oil filter: Wrap it around the filter twice, squeeze the ends, and turn counter-clockwise.

And don't forget the stubborn pickle or jam jar: Wrap it around the lid, squeeze the ends, and turn counter-clockwise.

Be sure not to let the belt slip off!!

With Quick-Reply you can write a post when viewing a topic without loading a new page. You can still use bulletin board code and smileys as you would in a normal post.
