Hi,
I am working as an agent in an insurance company, There is no rule like this.
There must a contract signed by your aunt that after his death the guardian would have to pay this amount.
You and you mom can see the contract paper by asking the company.
Thanks

There's some organization (legal - state) that covers this kind of stuff.  Even calling some local insurance agents with this question would provide you with some thoughts.

 Hello,
I have a question concerning homeowner's insurance after my aunt's death. After my aunt passed away, my mom contacted the insurance, and they increased the payment. My mom must pay out $600 every 3 months until the house is sold. My aunt only payed $65/month. Is this illegal? Should this be so high? Please help me!
