How about using a plastic scraper
« Reply #2 on: April 30, 2003, 04:18:55 PM »
I think I would try a plastic scraper like the those you can find in the dollar srore for scraping bowls or pans. Hard to explain exactly what I mean. If you are familiar with Pampered Chef... it would be like the brown scraper that comes with the stones. If it does not seem to be coming off suing that, you might try goof off or one of those things.  "Orange cleaner might help if it is still at all soft. If the stuff is just to hard or spread too thin I might try running the dryer for a few minutes to warm up the gum and try all of the above again. Now for the clothes.... I think you could try ice to harden it and chip off as much as possible. I know peanut butter or vegetable oil works on some things. You would of course have to deal with the grease spots when you are through (go jo, orange cleaner, murphy's oil soap, or SHOUT would probably work.)  Good luck

Gum in dryer!
« Reply #1 on: April 29, 2003, 04:32:17 PM »
 :o

My DD left a 10-pack of Bazooka gum deep in her pocket, which made it through the washer undetected.  But, when it hit the dryer, what a mess!  Any helpful hints on removing heat-welded bubble gum from the interior drum of the dryer (as well as a bunch of clothes)?
