There is a huge industry out there profitting from the myth that dogs are like people. They are not, especially biologically. Dogs are scavengers. Dogs, Wolves, and Coyotes will hunt for food. It is much more often however that they will exist on the remains, and fesces of other animals. Whats good for you is not necessarily good for a dog. Whats acceptable for a dog, is frankly fatal for a human. It is laughable to see people spend upwards of $3 dollars a pound for dog food, because it may contain salmon or lamb. Dogs have a digestive system that extracts the nutrition it needs from rotten animals and even fesces. Dogs, Wolves, and Coyotes can live on the garbage of the world. It is probably why they so readily became man's best friend.
