      I love forums like this, where the only limit is the imagination.

      Was reading and ran across belts in the Recycle/Reuse.

      An old mechanics trick for a belt is using it to remove an oil filter: Wrap it around the filter twice, squeeze the ends, and turn counter-clockwise.

      And don't forget the stubborn pickle or jam jar: Wrap it around the lid, squeeze the ends, and turn counter-clockwise.

      Be sure not to let the belt slip off!!

        Hi, I'm new to the forum although I've been receiving the newsletter for some time.  So I thought I'd begin with a reply to this post.  I make purses out of old jeans, and I use recycled fabric belts for the straps.  They're much sturdier than a strip of denim, and you can find some really interesting ones.
