A Note From Randal
******************
Hello Everyone,

We have included an article on “Getting Out of Debt” from one of my favorite teachers, Larry Burkett. Larry has gone on to be with the Lord but his teachings are forever helpful. I hope you will take some time to read or refer this information to someone it might be able to help. I can remember when were in debt and behind in payments. That was a long time ago but the memories are still vivid enough for us to stay debt free. Larry helped us with that road map out of debt and into debt free living.

We appreciate your continued interest in our Forums and websites.

Until next time,

Randal

Getting Out of Debt

We have so much debt in this country that the average American has been described as someone driving on a bond-financed highway, in a bank-financed car, fueled by charge-card-financed gasoline, going to purchase furniture on the installment plan to put in his savings-and-loan-financed home.

During the last 50 years nothing in the area of finances has dominated or influenced the direction of our society as much as debt. It’s amazing when you consider that only a generation ago credit cards were unknown, car loans were a rarity, and mortgages were for GI’s who were getting starter homes.

Today it is not unusual for a young couple to owe-with home mortgages, school loans, and car loans-$100,000 or more within the first couple of years of marriage.

Although this has become the norm in our society, it is not the norm according to God’s principles of finance.

According to God’s Word (see Deuteronomy 15:6; Psalm 37:21; Romans 13:8), debt is not normal, and long-term debt is especially abnormal.

What can people do who are already in debt? What can they do to break the debt cycle?

Becoming Debt Free
With the desire, discipline, and time anyone can become debt free and stay that way.

The following are five basic steps to debt elimination: (1) Transfer ownership of every possession to God; (2) Give the Lord His part first-the tithe on gross income; (3) Allow no more debt (no bank or family loans and cut up the credit cards); (4) Develop a realistic balanced budget that will allow every creditor to receive as much as possible; and (5) Start retiring the debt. Generally speaking, if these steps are faithfully followed, the average family can usually be debt free in about five years.

Transfer ownership
The first step to debt freedom is to pray and ask for the Lord’s help and guidance.

Then in prayer, transfer ownership of each and every possession to God. That means money, job, time, material possessions, family, education, and earning potential for the future. This is a mandatory first step (Psalm 8:6).

If people believe that they are owners of even one possession,

Green Tea Helps Kill Leukemia Cells

Mayo Clinic researchers have discovered that a component in green tea helps
kill cells of the most common leukemia in the United States.

The research using laboratory cell cultures shows that a component of green
tea known as epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) helps kill leukemia cells by
interrupting the communication signals they need to survive. The findings
are reported in an early electronic article in the journal Blood.

Do You Wash Your Produce?

Despite the attention given to mad cow disease, contaminated produce was
responsible for the greatest number of food-borne illnesses from 1990 to
2003.

About 76 million people a year become sick from food, including more than
325,000 who are hospitalized and 5,000 who die, according to government
data. Many of the illnesses can be traced to fresh produce contaminated
with pathogens such as salmonella, E. coli and shigella.

Fruits and vegetables can be contaminated by bacteria while they grow in the
fields or are handled by workers during production, packing or preparation.

If water isn’t good enough for your hands, why is it good enough for your
food?

We use Sunshine Concentrate to soak our fruits and veggies in and it does a
great job. It’s easy to tell because you can see what the water looks like
after you take the food out. You can also see the real color of the fruit.
I thought red grapes always looked gray but they are actually red when you
soak them 20 minutes in Sunshine Concentrate.

1. I have a male cat (Cho) who is about 3 years old recently I’ve found that he has started to sleep in his LitterMaid, and it isnt always totally clean! He sleeps durring the day on the couch like normal but now does this after we go to bed. I have two other cats one is a new addition (Screamer) but she never leaves our bed at night so I dont think Cho is afraid of her. The only other recent change is I have started to let Cho outside when he wants, he still is scared of the outdoors a litle so he doesnt go out much. What could be wrong, could he have posibly fell in love with the feeling of dirt but to afraid to go out?

They are starting to get that black ugly edge around them that just does not work with my decor, or anyone else’s I don’t imagine. My dilemma is removing them without tearing a hole in the drywall. Does anybody have any suggestions on how to get these awful things off my walls without being charged a repair fee by my landlady?
