      If a male cat backs up and urinates on a VERTICAL surface. He’s spraying, and this is usually done to mark territory.

      If a cat urinates on a HORIZONTAL surface, This is Pee. And it’s usually done in the wrong place because the cat is scared.

        Female cats can also spray…I had a female calico that we would watch outside mark the trees, even after she had been spayed as a kitten.

          Something to get the smell out is a good enzyme spray…I like the one by Nature’s Sunshine
